Vedanta Bharati
A research institution carrying forward Adi Shankaracharya's legacy through original research, lived experiment, and national renewal.
Carrying forward Adi Shankaracharya's legacy since 1999.
Founded in 1999, Vedanta Bharati has grown into a contemporary institution dedicated to the study, research and dissemination of Advaita Vedanta. Its journey of academic engagement includes initial recognition as a Research Centre by Tumkur University in 2011 and, subsequently, by Karnataka Sanskrit University in 2023. Today, Vedanta Bharati advances Advaita Vedanta across diverse spheres of life, brings traditional knowledge into dialogue with contemporary sciences, and engages communities across Bharat in the spirit of Sarvātmabhāva — the social cohesion at the heart of Adi Shankaracharya's vision.

Our Mission
Civilisational, Not Institutional
Vedanta Bharati's purpose is civilisational, not institutional: to cultivate Advaita Vedanta as a living discipline — studying it with rigour, living it with conviction, and placing it in dialogue with the contemporary sciences. What unites its many initiatives is one aim drawn from Adi Shankaracharya himself — Sarvātmabhāva, the social cohesion and national integration born of a people who recognise their shared inheritance.
Our Work
Five Verticals, One Investigative Tradition
No single vertical defines Vedanta Bharati. Each is a different register of the same inquiry — doctoral research in Advaita Vedanta, its dialogue with modern science, youth formation, and cultural mobilisation, integrated into one coordinated institution rather than five unrelated efforts.

Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahaswamiji
Chief Patron, Vedanta Bharati · 36th Peethadhipati, Dakshinamnaya Sri Sharada Peetham, Sringeri
Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahaswamiji is the presiding pontiff of the Dakshinamnaya Sri Sharada Peetham, Sringeri — one of the four Amnaya Peethams established by Adi Shankaracharya, and seat of an unbroken lineage of Acharyas beginning with His direct disciple, Sri Sureshwaracharya. As Chief Patron of Vedanta Bharati, His blessings have guided the institution since its founding, anchoring its work within the wider tradition of Advaita Vedanta scholarship the Peetham has sustained for over a thousand years.

Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Sri Vidhushekhara Bharati Sannidhanam
Successor Designate, Dakshinamnaya Sri Sharada Peetham, Sringeri
Jagadguru Shankaracharya Sri Sri Sri Vidhushekhara Bharati Sannidhanam, under the direct guidance of Jagadguru Sri Sri Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahaswamiji, has been entrusted with the sacred responsibility of carrying forward the tradition and work of the Sringeri Sharada Peetham. His life reflects the compassion, wisdom and steadfast commitment to Sanātana Dharma that has illumined the Guru-Shiṣya Paramparā of Adi Shankaracharya. Vedanta Bharati is privileged to receive His gracious and continuous guidance, encouragement and blessings, which continue to strengthen and inspire its work in the study, research and dissemination of Advaita Vedanta.

HH Sri Sri Shankara Bharati Mahaswamiji
Patron & Founder, Vedanta Bharati · Peethadhipati, Yadathore Sri Yoganandeshwara Saraswati Math
HH Sri Sri Shankara Bharati Mahaswamiji ascended the Peetha of the Yadathore Sri Yoganandeshwara Saraswati Math in 1995 and founded Vedanta Bharati to advance the study of Advaita Vedanta and extend it into dialogue with the modern world. Steeped in Advaita Vedanta and the allied Shastras, He is known for rendering even its most difficult concepts accessible — to scientists and schoolchildren alike. For years together, He has undertaken repeated pan-India yatras, carrying Advaita Vedanta philosophy into every corner of the country — a civilisational effort to propagate its teachings and restore the shared inheritance they speak to.

Sri Brahmananda Bharati Swamiji
Successor Designate, Yadathore Sri Yoganandeshwara Saraswati Math
Sri Brahmananda Bharati Swamiji entered the life of Sannyasa under H.H. Sri Sri Shankara Bharati Mahaswamiji, following a period of dedicated involvement in the work of Vedanta Bharati in Bengaluru. Swamiji carries the Guru's vision into action, leading Vedanta Bharati's major initiatives from conception to execution and ensuring their effective implementation on the ground. He also guides the Math's disciples in their day-to-day religious observances and oversees its functioning during Sri Mahaswamiji's extended travels across India.
