Harihar Rohi Mandir - Patti

A documented stop on Adi Shankaracharya's route across India.

Harihar Mandir is a traditional rural shrine situated in the Rohi Patti region of the Punjab frontier belt. The temple preserves the character of an old frontier-region sacred sthala where multiple streams of worship coexisted within village devotional life.
The shrine is associated with Mahant Ananda Giri of the Juna Akhada tradition connected with Naga Sadhus.
The temple complex preserves multiple sacred Padukas associated with local spiritual memory. Two sets of Padukas are preserved within the broader temple premises, along with another set situated inside the Ishwara Temple.
One set of wooden Padukas is traditionally believed to have been blessed by Adi Shankaracharya and associated with Adivasi communities connected with the region.
Another set of wooden Padukas is locally believed to have been blessed by Adi Shankaracharya and gifted to a Sanyasi residing in the Ashrama associated with the temple.
The temple also preserves an Ishwara shrine forming an important center within the complex.
The traditions connected with the shrine survive primarily through living oral memory and custodial lineage rather than inscriptionally documented historical evidence.
