Balaji Hanuman Mandir is a revered Hanuman shrine in Kota, Rajasthan, where Śrī Hanumān is worshipped in the Balaji tradition, with devotees seeking protection, strength, and relief from difficulties. The temple has for generations remained a center of unwavering bhakti, attracting thousands of devotees who seek strength, protection, courage, and divine grace through the worship of Balaji Maharaj.
Local traditions affirm that the sacred Vigraha of Balaji was discovered from within an agricultural field and was subsequently brought to the present location for worship, where the kṣetra gradually evolved into an important center of bhakti for the surrounding region.
Alongside Hanuman, the temple also houses a sacred shrine of Kāla Bhairava and three ancient stone Vigrahas, including Batuka Bhairava, which are held in deep reverence within local worship traditions. Traditions of the kṣetra further speak of the visit of Adi Shankaracharya during his Yatra across Bhārata, where he is believed to have offered anugraha to these Vigrahas (including Hanuman) and blessed the kṣetra, strengthening its spiritual presence and worship traditions for the welfare of the people and the region.
A sacred Dhwaja Stambha stands within the kṣetra. An ancient Anjaneya Vigraha and a Pañcha Mukha Īśwara Vigraha is worshipped at this spot, with local traditions affirming that these sacred Vigrahas were discovered at this very spot and subsequently established for worship. Traditions associated with the kṣetra further speak of Adi Shankaracharya’s worship of these Vigrahas during his Yatra across Bhārata.
Locals point to a nearby cave where they believe Adi Shankaracharya stayed for a short period of time doing Tapas.
