Programs

Vedanta for every context

A broad range of programs through which Vedanta Bharati engages communities, institutions, and individuals — spanning public discourses, cultural events, and introductory Vedanta study circles.

Common Programs

About the Programme

Carrying Vedanta into everyday life

Not every seeker arrives through a structured national programme. Many encounter Vedanta Bharati through a single public talk, a community gathering, or an informal study group. The Common Programs exist for exactly these encounters — creating accessible points of entry into the tradition.

Rooted in the same philosophical foundation as Vedanta Bharati’s national work, these programs are designed to be light in structure but deep in content — meeting people where they are, and inviting them further.

All Common Programs are free of charge and open to the public. They are conducted by qualified teachers from the Vedanta Bharati network, across geographies and in multiple languages.

Priority 1

Public Discourses & Outreach

The widest point of contact

Open lectures and guided forums — no prior knowledge required. These form Vedanta Bharati’s first handshake with every new community it reaches.

01

Introductory Talks

Single-session public lectures on foundational Advaita Vedanta themes — open to all, held across community centres, colleges, and institutions.

02

Open Forums

Structured dialogues where participants bring questions about Vedanta, philosophy, and the nature of consciousness — guided by a qualified teacher.

03

Guest Lectures

Invited talks by scholars and teachers from the broader Advaita Vedanta tradition — covering text, practice, and the living lineage.

Priority 2

Vedanta Study Circles

Going deeper into the text

Small-group study programs guided by trained teachers — for those who wish to move from introduction to immersion.

Vivekachudamani Study Circle

Adi Shankaracharya's Vivekachudamani — the Crest Jewel of Discrimination — is the centrepiece of the structured study programme. Over multiple sessions, participants move systematically through the text with a trained teacher, verse by verse.

Text 01

Māndukya Upanishad

The shortest of the principal Upanishads — and arguably the deepest. A focused 4-session study of the three states and Turīya.

Text 02

Bhagavad Gita

Selected chapters from the Gita studied through the lens of Adi Shankara’s bhāṣya — emphasising jñāna-yoga and the nature of the Self.

Text 03

Upanishadic Texts

Thematic readings from the Chandogya, Brihadāranyaka, and Taittirīya Upanishads — drawn according to participant interest and teacher guidance.

Priority 3

Cultural Events & Community

Vedanta in community spaces

Celebrations, outreach, and institutional collaborations that carry the spirit of Vedanta into schools, colleges, and the cultural life of communities.

Annual Gatherings
01

Annual Gatherings

Cultural celebrations marking key dates in the Vedantic calendar — Shankaracharya Jayanti, Guru Purnima, and other occasions — open to the public and conducted with devotion and philosophical depth.

School & College Outreach
02

School & College Outreach

Workshops and introductory sessions for students — combining cultural content, philosophical inquiry, and interactive formats designed for young audiences.

Institutional Collaborations
03

Institutional Collaborations

Partnerships with local organisations, trusts, and civic bodies to co-host events, reach new communities, and carry Vedanta into spaces where it has not previously arrived.
